The Yukon is where vast wilderness, quiet roads, and raw northern landscapes come together. This journey takes you deep into Canada’s north, where history, mountains, and untouched nature create an experience that feels both grounding and unforgettable.

Itinerary

Arrive in Whitehorse and begin your introduction to the Yukon with a visit to the Yukon Visitor Information Centre and the MacBride Museum of Yukon History. Get a first glimpse into the region’s culture and history before setting off on a scenic drive north toward Dawson City, surrounded by endless wilderness.
Explore the historic streets of Dawson City, a town shaped by the Klondike Gold Rush and surrounded by dramatic northern landscapes. Continue into Tombstone Territorial Park, where sharp peaks, tundra valleys, and quiet expanses create one of the most striking natural settings in the territory. Take time to walk, explore, and fully absorb the stillness of the north.
Step into Yukon’s past with a visit to a Klondike Gold Rush historical site, learning about the people and events that shaped this frontier, while also acknowledging the deeper Indigenous history of the land. After exploring, begin the journey back to Whitehorse, taking in long stretches of untouched wilderness along the way.
Travel south and stop at the unique Carcross Desert, often called the world’s smallest desert. Continue to the vibrant Emerald Lake, known for its striking color, and explore the dramatic cliffs of Miles Canyon. End the day arriving at your camp, surrounded by nature.
Begin the day at camp before heading to Kathleen Lake for a calm kayaking experience surrounded by mountain scenery. Continue with a short hike along the Rock Glacier Trail, where alpine landscapes stretch in every direction. Later, visit the Kluane Museum of History to learn more about both the natural evolution of the region and the First Nations communities who have lived here for generations.
Hike the scenic Soldier’s Summit Trail, taking in sweeping views of the surrounding mountains, before visiting Long Ago People’s Place, which offers insight into the deep connection between Indigenous communities and this land. Continue toward the Thechàl Dhâl Visitor Centre, located in one of the most wildlife-rich and culturally significant areas of Kluane National Park and Reserve.
Pack up camp and return to Whitehorse. Enjoy a final walk through the city, reflecting on the vast landscapes and quiet moments of the journey, before heading to the airport for your flight home.
