This isn’t just a trip, it’s a journey through one of the most extraordinary places on earth. From black sand beaches to remote highlands, Iceland feels like a world untouched, where each day reveals landscapes more surreal and unforgettable than the last.
Itinerary
Begin your journey in Reykjavík, where modern Nordic culture meets rugged landscapes. Visit the iconic Hallgrímskirkja, stroll along the colorful Rainbow Street, and stop by the striking Sun Voyager by the waterfront. Take time to explore the city’s atmosphere before the adventure ahead.
Travel north through Iceland’s dramatic landscapes toward Akureyri. Along the way, stop at the unique Hvítserkur rising from the sea, visit the historic Víðimýrarkirkja, and relax at the hidden geothermal pool Fosslaug. End the day at Reykjafoss, a peaceful waterfall surrounded by untouched nature.
Today is filled with otherworldly scenery in the Lake Mývatn region. Witness the powerful Goðafoss, explore the volcanic crater Hverfjall, and visit the lava cave Grjótagjá. Walk through the steaming geothermal area of Hverir before standing in awe of Dettifoss, Europe’s most powerful waterfall. End the day at the serene Botnstjörn.
Continue through northern Iceland with a stop at the striking basalt canyon Stuðlagil. Weather permitting, venture deep into the highlands to reach the remote Öskjuvatn, a place that feels truly raw. Visit Hengifoss, one of Iceland’s tallest waterfalls, known for its dramatic layered cliffs.
Arrive in Egilsstaðir and enjoy a slower-paced day surrounded by quiet landscapes. Take time to recharge, explore the area, and prepare for the striking days ahead along the south coast.
The scenery shifts dramatically as you reach Iceland’s iconic south coast. Visit the black sand beaches of Stokksnes with views of Vestrahorn mountain, stop at coastal viewpoints along the Eastfjords, and witness the breathtaking Jökulsárlón filled with drifting icebergs. Walk along Diamond Beach, where ice fragments glisten on black sand, and hop on a boat to explore them up close. Explore the stunning Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon to wrap up the day.
Today takes you deeper into Iceland’s wild highlands. Explore the colorful landscapes of Landmannalaugar, discover hidden gems like Sigöldugljúfur canyon, and visit the majestic green cone of Mælifell. Waterfalls and valleys unfold throughout the day, including Bláfjallafoss and Markarfljótsgljúfur canyon.
Visit the famous Reynisfjara with its basalt columns and crashing waves, and take in panoramic views from Dyrhólaey. Continue to Sólheimajökull glacier before stopping at Iceland’s most iconic waterfalls: Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss, where you can walk behind the cascade. End the day with a relaxing soak in the Reykjadalur hot river.
Discover the diverse landscapes of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Visit the iconic Kirkjufellsfoss with its perfectly shaped mountain backdrop, explore the golden sands of Skarðsvík Beach, and walk along the coastline of Dritvík and Djúpalónssandur. Stop by the charming black church of Búðakirkja before continuing your journey.
End your adventure with Iceland’s famous Golden Circle. Hike to Glymur, one of the country’s tallest waterfalls, then visit Þingvellir, where tectonic plates meet. Witness geothermal activity at Geysir and finish at the powerful Gullfoss.
