Explore the stunning trails of Banff National Park, where spline lakes, waterfalls, and towering peaks create a hiker’s paradise. Step off the beaten path and immerse in the fresh mountain air and breathtaking wilderness.
Itinerary
Begin your journey with a scenic drive to Minnewanka Lake, surrounded by towering peaks and dense forest. Take a walk along the lakeshore and perhaps spot some wildlife along the trail. Next, visit the nearby Two Jack Lake, a quieter and equally picturesque spot ideal for stretching your legs and taking photos.
Head into Banff and take time to explore the town. Walk along Banff Avenue, browse local shops, or enjoy a relaxed stop before continuing the journey.
In the afternoon, travel to Yoho National Park to experience some of the region’s most iconic natural landmarks. Walk along Emerald Lake, known for its vibrant turquoise color, and stop at Natural Bridge, where the Kicking Horse River has carved a striking rock formation. End the day at Takakkaw Falls, one of Canada’s tallest waterfalls.
Today is dedicated to one of the most iconic sights of the Canadian Rockies: Moraine Lake. Early morning light makes the lake’s water sparkle like a gem, perfect for photography or simply taking in the view. Lace up your hiking boots and embark on the trail to Sentinel Pass, a challenging but incredibly rewarding hike. Explore the alpine scenery, take photos of the glacial lakes, and breathe in the crisp mountain air.
By the end of the day, descend back to Moraine Lake and take some time to relax by the shore, reflecting on the spectacular landscapes you’ve explored.
Begin your day with a tranquil stop at the Hector Lake Viewpoint, followed by the Crowfoot Glacier Viewpoint, where you can admire a dramatic hanging glacier clinging to the mountainside.
Next, head to Bow Lake, one of the parkway’s largest and most accessible lakes, offering sweeping views of the surrounding peaks. Continue on to Peyto Lake, famous for its striking shape and vivid turquoise waters, best seen from the elevated viewpoint.
Conclude your day at Waterfowl Lakes, a more peaceful and secluded spot. Spend time unwinding by the water or take a paddle to experience the scenery from a fresh perspective.
Conclude your Banff adventure with the iconic Lake Louise. Start your hike along the lakeshore, enjoying the vivid turquoise water and the reflection of Victoria Glacier. The trail gradually ascends to the Big Beehive, offering sweeping views of the lake, surrounding peaks, and alpine meadows below.
Descend back to the lake and spend your remaining hours relaxing by the water, savoring the last moments of your Rockies adventure.
