Hit the road through Banff National Park and beyond, where winding highways pass turquoise lakes, glaciers, and rugged mountain peaks. Take in the scenery at every turn and experience the freedom of exploring the Rockies.
Itinerary
Begin your journey with a scenic introduction to the Canadian Rockies. Visit the striking turquoise waters of Lake Minnewanka, followed by a stop at the serene Two Jack Lake. Continue into the charming town of Banff, where you can explore local shops and enjoy the mountain atmosphere.
In the afternoon, travel into Yoho National Park to discover the vivid blue waters of Emerald Lake and the unique rock formations of Natural Bridge. End the day at the breathtaking Takakkaw Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in Canada.
Today is dedicated to some of the most iconic landscapes in the Rockies. Start early at Lake Louise to enjoy the peaceful morning atmosphere and soft light over the glacier-fed lake. Surrounded by towering peaks and Victoria Glacier, this location offers a variety of walking trails and scenic viewpoints along the shoreline.
Continue to Moraine Lake, set in the Valley of the Ten Peaks. Known for its intense blue color and dramatic alpine setting, it is one of the most photographed locations in the Rockies. Take time at both locations to walk, photograph, and fully experience the landscape.
Travel along the famous Icefields Parkway, widely considered one of the most scenic drives in the world. Make a stop at the Hector Lake Viewpoint for a peaceful introduction to the day, followed by the Crowfoot Glacier Viewpoint, where a hanging glacier can be seen along the mountainside.
Continue to Bow Lake, one of the largest and most accessible lakes along the parkway, offering wide open views of the surrounding peaks. From there, visit Peyto Lake, famous for its unique shape and vivid turquoise color, best appreciated from the elevated viewpoint.
End the day at Waterfowl Lakes, a quieter and more remote area of the park. Take time to relax by the water or opt for a paddle to experience the landscape from a different perspective.
Enjoy a relaxed morning in Banff with time to explore at your own pace, revisit favorite spots, or simply take in the surrounding mountain views.
Continue to Marble Canyon, where a series of bridges and walkways follow a narrow limestone canyon carved by glacial water. The contrast between the pale rock and the vivid blue river creates a striking landscape.
Make a scenic stop along the Bow River before heading to Johnston Canyon. Follow well-maintained trails through the canyon, passing catwalks attached to the rock walls, and reach a series of waterfalls that provide a memorable and accessible final highlight of the trip.
